8am. Saturday morning. Cricklade Town Hall. Mid-September!  I could hear Alan on his Harley long before he arrived – and I’m sure so too could the rest of Cricklade, and probably North Wiltshire!

We headed out of Cricklade on the old favourite, the B4040, to Leigh crossroads where we turned left to Wootton Bassett. Into Bassett, we turned left opposite the elevated Town Hall for Broad Hinton. Through sleepy Broad Hinton and turned right towards Avebury – another old favourite route. From here, we went to the Divine café for a cuppa tea which is on the A4 just outside of Calne.

Feeling suitably refreshed, thanks for paying Alan, we headed back along the A4 towards Marlborough and onto Hungerford. We are now in West Berkshire. Where we turned left for home – ish!

I wasn’t ready to come back yet as I was rather enjoying the ride. At Aldbourne we turned left for Lambourn and somehow got back to Bishopstone and then Ashbury. So we turned left here down towards the A420.

By now I was thinking that avoiding the A419 was my main aim of the day. At the A420 we turned right (I know, I got fed up of left turns too!) heading for Oxford. Turning left (damn it!) only at Faringdon where we followed signs for Lechlade. Now in Gloucestershire.

Bloody hell!! At Lechlade, we turned left again for Cirencester. At the Murco garage, we turned left (this is getting so silly now!) which takes us back to the A419, eventually.

We did turn right at Kepmsford though which was a nice change!

Down to the A419, turning left heading South towards the M4; taking the first exit, on the left we arrived back at Cricklade Town Hall. Back in Wiltshire – this makes it four!

Nice ride, nice morning out with Alan and his Harley.

Hope we didn’t wake you!
